When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, phase of the moon, and accuracy within one second per year, for example. This handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented brushed aluminum finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science. The WS-8117U-AL can hang on the wall or stand freely, with a built-in, fold-out stand. Radio-controlled time (to the hour, minute, and second) and date are prominently displayed, along with indoor and outdoor temperatures measured in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The day of the week can be displayed in English, French, Spanish or German.

Time can be displayed in 12- or 24-hour modes, and time zones from Greenwich Mean Time to -12 GMT can be selected, with three-letter identifications for US time zones. An alarm feature is useful as a timer, and, if the clock happens to hang or stand near a bed (or a couch that's used for napping), a snooze feature allows for gradual wake-up. Moon phase shows in twelve increments, from new moon, through gibbous and crescent phases (waxing and waning), to quarter and finally full moon.

The clock comes with La Crosse wireless transmitter TX37U-IT. Clock and transmitter each operate on two AA batteries. For options in wall mounting, three screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. The WS-8117U-AL measures 12-1/4 by 8 by 1-1/4 inches. Already have an atomic clock similar to this in the kitchen and decided to put one upstairs. It is very nice to be able to see the outside temperature while getting dressed. It is even nicer to know the exact time. Previously I relied on clocks that stopped when the power went out or lost time when the batteries became weak, neither of which is good when you are using that clock to gage your time to get ready to go to an appointment!

It worked very well....... for three weeks. Had installed the light under an overhang to reduce its exposure to the elements, obviously didn't help. Now to see if I can get it replaced under warranty. Should have heeded the warnings from other buyers. DO NOT BUY!

Takes the aggravation out of weedeating - Plastics Diva - Tennessee USA
I was replacing the string on my Ryobi weed trimmer 4 times each time I trimmed the lawn, due to the chain link fence. Using this new string head, I did not have to change the string once. It appears as though I will get several lawn trimmings from each set of strings. While the PivoTrim is well worth the expense, it would have been nice had the installation been easier.

Not as good as Max Lite plugs - muir -
i would give this 3.5 stars if it were an option. on comfort, the reason i bought these, they are quite comfortable. however, they are not that different in comfort from the howard leight max lite plugs i was using before these (which are well reviewed, and amazon has a prime seller selling as "maxlit"). honestly sometimes i think one is more comfortable and then other times i think the other is more comfortable, so there's really no difference at least of meaningful / major difference.

however, the max lites DEFINITELY DEFINITELY seal better. i can hear a lot clearer with these ear soft plugs in than i can w/ the max lites, so that's a negative and a significant one considering i don't want to hear if i have ear plugs in. for this reason of approx equal comfort and better sealing i'd choose the max lite. the max lite also comes in an easier to deal w/ individual package per set (the plastic is perforated plastic and like a millisecond to open whereas these ear soft are a little more cumbersome packaging)

however, one factor that does arguably favor the ear softs is their shape is a straight "bullet" shape whereas the maxlites are a "T" shape. the only difference this makes is the ear softs look cooler coming out of your ears (or maybe better put "not as dorky") and can also be slightly more comfortable to sleep on since there's less material outside your ear. however, even taking this into consideration, i'd rather sleep on the max lites cause they aren't bad to sleep on and the sealing is just so much better with the max lites. i wished i'd stuck w/ what i had and just bought the max lites again.

The supplier was very responsive to the order and it was delivered in about a week. If you have a sump pump system that moves any volume of water, power failures are a concern. This product gives you piece of mind and provides everything necessary from a good name brand (except battery) for a minimal installation. They claim the system will run on battery power for 7 hours continuous, longer, depending on duty cycle (duty cycle is the time off compared to time on, for instance, 1 minute off and one minute one is a 1-to-1 duty cycle and would run for 14 hours, according to the paperwork). The instructions show an installation for a 36" deep sump well. I didn't have nearly that amount of vertical room and had to space things more closely together vertically. I had to glue in the one-way valve (as per instructions), but would have used splicers if I had more vertical room. The instructions direct you to glue in the motor as well. I would recommend buying a rubber splice kit so that you can remove the motor. At least by installing a splice on the motor, the valve can be replaced without replacing the motor. Overall, good product, I just wouldn't recommend blindly following the directions and gluing everything for maintenance reasons.
